Native vs Cross-Platform App Development: Which to Pick

One of the first and most consequential app decisions is native versus cross-platform. Both are valid; the right answer depends on your priorities.

Native

Separate iOS and Android codebases give the best performance and immediate access to new platform features — at the cost of building and maintaining two apps.

Cross-platform

  • One codebase (Flutter or React Native) for both platforms
  • Faster time to market and lower cost
  • Near-native performance for most apps
  • Ideal for MVPs and content- or form-driven apps

For most business apps we recommend cross-platform; we reach for native when performance or deep hardware integration demands it.
